Great game tonight
The St. Louis Blues won an important game against their arch-rival Detroit Red Wings tonight in a hard fought battle. Although it was won in regulation time (first regulation loss for the Red Wings in the last 12 games), it had the excitement of fast action and hard hits that are the epitome of team rivalry. Manny Legace was excellent tonight in turning away 34 of the 36 shots on his goal and showed absolute coolness in the face of the Red Wings offensive line of Zetterberg and Datsyuk. Tkachuk, Stempniak, and Boyes scored the three goals necessary for the Blues to win this game with assists from newcomer McDonald and Kariya.
It was obvious to anyone watching the game tonight that the Blues are dedicated to playing some very rough and ready hockey this season and I for one am going to be anxious about our chances of going to the Stanley Cup again. For a complete rundown of the game please go to the Blues Official Recap. If you’re not a hockey fan yet, then I would suggest that you get there because a more hard hitting and exciting sport there is not.
