Recipe: Heart Attack on a Platter (Crab Alfredo)
Summary: This is Nikki’s favorite dish
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Whipping Cream
1/3 to 1/2 cups Parmesan Cheese
1 stick Butter
handful Italian Seasoning
1 small onion
3 cloves garlic
2 lbs. Spaghetti Noodles
2 packages Imitation Crab (I prefer real but my daughter likes the imitation)
as many as you wish Shrimp (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook spaghetti (or fettucini or angel hair pasta, whichever you prefer) according to the manufacturers directions. While the water is heating for the spaghetti, chop your onion and garlic, heat a couple of tablespoons of butter in a skillet and sweat the onions and garlic in with the butter. Add your crab meat and/or shrimp and cook gently until heated through (note: this is assuming you are using pre-cooked shrimp otherwise be certain to cook the shrimp thoroughly.) Be careful with artificial crab as it tends to fall apart (it is really Alaskan Pollock and does flake readily). Add some italian seasoning to the crab/onion/garlic mixture.
Once the spaghetti noodles are done, drain and place back into the pan they came out of. Add one stick of butter and the entire carton of heavy whipping cream. Stir. To this add about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese and stir thoroughly. Add the crab/onion/garlic mixture. Heat thoroughly and serve!
Heart attack on a platter, about 1,000,000 calories but well worth it!
